Internet Explorer in Compatibility Mode

There are known issues with users who are using Internet Explorer 10 in Internet Explorer 7 browsing mode.  The main symptoms are:

  • The popup menu doesn't appear when you hover over the gear in the upper right hand corner.
  • The gadgets can not be rearranged by dragging and dropping.
  • The styles on the page are not applied correctly making the page look significantly different than on other browsers.
Microsoft is aware of the bug that causes this issue, and has opted not to fix it until the release of IE11.

To work around the issue, change your compatibility mode:
  1. In Internet Explorer, press the F12 key.
  2. A split screen will appear near the bottom of the page.
  3. On the top line of the split screen, there will be an area labeled "Browser Mode"
  4. Click "Browser Mode" and change it to Internet Explorer 10.
  5. Press F12 again to remove the split screen.
  6. Refresh your page.
